THE SHORT STORY

KIA ORA! Welcome to my page, I am so excited that you’ve made it here! Whether you’re just having a quick squiz, or looking to deepen your health and healing journey, I am so grateful that you have taken this time to connect!

For years, I found so much purpose in the positive impacts I made as a trainer, coach and instructor, as well as my own athletic pursuits. After taking some time off to figure out (and let’s be honest - survive) motherhood, it has been a challenging but redefining journey identifying what Purpose and Serving Community mean to me now, and how I can be a better teacher, trainer and practitioner with where I’m at today.

Keeping it short and sweet here so if you’d like to know more, please check out the full back story below and of course the other links above. I am so looking forward to working together, and having the opportunity to hold space for you on your health and healing journey.

THE LONG STORY

Cheryl has been in the fitness and dance industry since 1998. She is a certified Instructor with Les Mills NZ, Fitness Australia, REPs NZ, ZUU, Barre Body Australia, Total Barre, and is Yoga Alliance certified 200RYT, Pre/Post Natal Yoga RPYT, Yin Yoga, FlyHigh Yoga™, Ayurveda for Yoga Teachers as well as Aerial and Sound Healing.

Her extensive experience began with teaching for Les Mills New Zealand, as well as working with athletes affiliated with the New Zealand Academy of Sport in sports specific conditioning and rehabilitation including:

  • Nicola Browne, NZ White Ferns

  • Louise Milliken, NZ White Ferns

  • Kayne Scott, Team Kiwi Racing

  • Waikato U18 Development Squad, NZ Tennis

  • Northern Districts, NZ Cricket

  • Amigene Metcalfe, Waikato BOP Magic

In 2013, she founded Eat Train Love in Singapore to share her passion, knowledge and simple philosophy of eating well, training hard and loving yourself. By empowering change out of self-love, her coaching and training programmes have helped many build healthy relationships with food and exercise. By 2019, Eat Train Love had expanded into a wider online and international community, and supported 2 non-profit groups in Siem Reap through the ETL For Good charity project. Rooted in sparking positive change and goodwill through fitness, Eat Train Love goes beyond being “just another fitness company”: Eat Train Love was a support system, a team, a community and a mantra to live by.

Over the years, she has travelled to attend training workshops, assisted in teacher trainings, taught at fitness/yoga retreats and taken part in overseas races. This has equipped her with the experience to work with various body types, capabilities and cultures. She has also had the privilege of leading numerous community and charity events as an ambassador for lululemon and Cotton On Body Singapore.

After a brief pause to have her first child, she is excited to be back in the creative process of teaching, empowering and serving her community. Believing in the importance of ongoing professional education, she has most recently completed a certification in Ayurveda to enhance her work in Yoga Therapy and Sound Healing. Ever grateful for how the practice of Yoga extends beyond the mat, she aims to bring presence, grace and intention to each day and each session she teaches.
